Well the Children's play is over. Thank God.

The musical starts this week. Free Time.. What is that...

Oh! Snippet of Brother against Brother... because I know you lot want some of it! :D

Tim grabbed the letter from the private and opened it and read it quietly.

"Dear Father, Artemus is making me write this for some reason… The Union stayed here a few months ago… met some interesting people. William Sherman was one. He has some issues… He got shot and I turned him. How are you?" Tim blinked. "He… did... WHAT!"

Tony grabbed Tim's arm. "What's your problem?"

"He… I am going to kill him!" Tim growled.

"Who and why?" Tony asked.

"HE TURNED SHERMAN!" Tim yelled.

Nick looked up to see Grant walking through the camp. He turned and frowned hearing the commotion coming from Tony and Tim.

Grant looked over at Nick and tilted his head. He looked familiar, like the painting of the man at the manor he stayed at when his leg had been broken. He nodded to the man and was startled when he heard a yell.

"HE TURNED SHERMAN!" A dark haired man yelled. A taller man smacked him upside the head.

The other man nodded to the General and looked back at the two bickering men. A look and the sound of a growl later, they both went quiet.

"General Grant." Nick said quietly as he was approached.

"Colonel, what is wrong with those two men?" Grant looked back at Tony and Tim.

"Nothing sir. They grew up together and they always bicker. I will make sure they will not disturb you. One is my Captain the other is our doctor." Nick sighed.

"So I see. What were they saying about Sherman?"

"Not sure sir. I'll ask and report back to you if you would like." Nick made a mental note to kill his children.

"You do that Colonel. Good day." Grant walked toward the next group.

Nick turned and walked toward the bickering siblings. "What in the hell are you two doing?"

"Ichabod turned Sherman!" Tim growled.

"William Sherman?" Nick asked.

"Yes… My childe is an idiot!" Tim handed Nick the letter.

Nick scanned it. "He has a point."

"He made a point?" Tim blinked.

"We would be lost without him in the war." Nick looked at Tim. "He made a wise choice."

"Still… he turned a General at the manor with Grant around, which, I saw how he looked at you. I'm pretty sure he knows something is up." Tim grabbed the letter back.

Tony just shook his head. "The more friends we have the better, you know that."

"Oh… leave me alone." Tim stalked off toward the medical tents.

Tony sighed. "He's been edgy since Jessica, and is worried about Eric. How are you holding up?"

Nick looked at Tony. "When I see and touch him again, I'll be fine." Nick started back to his tent,

Tony looked toward both retreating men. The war was getting to them all.

Nick sat at the edge of the camp, thinking, listening. He looked up when Grant walked up to him. Nick started to stand.

"No need to stand. Just want to talk." Grant sat on the ground next to him. "I know what you are, who you are."

Nick looked at him.

"You are the master of Sylum Manor. I recognized you from your painting. Roman General indeed, I can see it. How you interact with your troops." Grant leaned in. "Your children."

Nick straightened up. "General, I'm sure my people took good care of you in New Orleans."

Grant nodded. "They did indeed. Took care of Sherman as well."

Nick looked out over the horizon. "You know what we are. Tony, Tim and I."

"Vampires. I do know. Sherman was shot and was turned by Mr. Crane. I owe him a thank you. Your friend Bruce told us about the history of the manor and how you got to America with two of your children."

Nick smiled a little. "Bruce is the one who would explain it best. Though Giles would have if he had been there at the time. This will not be a problem, will it sir?"

"No. I don't think it will be. Take good care of your boys." Grant started to stand. "And tell the short one not so loud; the unit might think him mad some day soon."

Nick laughed. "They already think Tim's crazy. Just the turning of General Sherman surprised him. Ichabod is one of Tim's children. He turned him almost a hundred years ago."

Grant smiled slightly. "Could be why he was so interested in everything. I'm heading back before my men start looking for me."

"General, did Bruce tell you about my mate?" Nick stood up.

"The pirate? Yes, he did."

"He was also with the 54th Massachusetts." Nick said quietly. "It's been almost three months since the battle. I know that he would come up to find me. Is that going to be a problem sir?"

Grant looked at the slightly distressed Vampire. "Colonel it will be no problem with me. I'm sure he is a good man and fighter. If the troops give him trouble. Come see me."

Nick nodded. "Good night General."

Grant nodded and started to walk awake. "Good night Colonel."

Nick sighed and looked back out over the horizon. "Warrick… please be near…" He started back to his tent deep in thought. He turned when he heard a sound and in the clearing saw something that made him smile. His mate and his friend had made it to them.
